This quick and easy pizza sauce takes less than 10 minutes to prepare. It’s used on the tofu in my Tofu Almond Feta and Spinach Pizza recipe (which will be posted in the next few days). I planned on making this for dinner, and I had all of the ingredients I needed except for the pizza sauce, so I had to improvise and make my own. I needed something quick and easy, this recipe is the result and the perfect sauce to make if your in a time crunch.

2 tbsp vegetable broth (I used 1/8 tsp Vegetable Broth Powder in 2 tbsp hot water)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp ground fennel
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tbsp Date Paste
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

In a small pot over medium heat, add the vegetable broth and garlic, heat until almost simmering. Stir and cook for about a minute, then add the onion powder, basil, oregano, and fennel. Stir and saute for another minute.

Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, date paste, salt and pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a light boil, simmer for a minute or two. Remove from the heat and cool. This sauce will keep for a few days in the fridge or freeze to use later.
